Camp FAQ

What makes Arts & Learning Conservatory camps special?

At ALC every student is given an opportunity to shine and we make everyone feel like family! Established in 2004, ALC is one of the first Orange County arts camps to combine musical theater with a live music. Long considered one of the top theater camps in the county, ALC balances first-rate arts training (in a pressure-free environment), with fun games and activities, with 15 years of tradition. Our theater arts programs are very unique to us, from our first ever camp of 21 students to our commitment today of reaching over 1000 students a year in over 30 schools. We love what we do and are excited to bring high quality arts to children. We are an Arts Orange County awarded program having received the Outstanding Organization of the Year award in 2015.

Does TUITION cover everything? Are there any other FEES?

Unlike many other camps, our tuition covers almost everything and there are very few additional fees and charges. Tuition covers costumes; scripts; supplies; Tuition does not include lunch.

Are SCHOLARSHIPS available?

We strive to make the camp experience affordable for all families and offer partial scholarships on a first come basis. Need-based scholarships are awarded upon completing an application. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is May 20th with awards determined by June 1st.

HOW MANY campers are there per session?

We pride ourselves on our close-knit, family environment where everyone has an opportunity to shine. Camp size varies but our classes range from:

This is my FIRST YEAR and I don't know anyone.

There are many new campers every summer as well as returning students. ALC  has the most loving and welcoming people in the world. Everything we do – from our activity programs to shows – fosters a nurturing, family environment. Our campers and staff are helpful and non-competitive. The bonding between new and returning campers is almost instantaneous.

Do you require AUDITIONS?

We welcome all levels of experience – from new performers to those working professionally – and do not require auditions for camp admission, however on the first day of camp we will allow students to audition for placement. It is our goal for all campers to develop skills that build self-confidence and creativity for life. No matter the experience level, all campers will have fun, feel supported and challenged, and shine on our stage.

Is there a performance?

On the final day of camp, a performance will take place the last hour of class. For students in our Musical Lab camps, an evening performance will take place on the final 1-2 days of camp.

Who do I CONTACT if I have more questions?
