Fall Classes for 2020-2021!

Young Actors Academy - Tuesdays

(Grade Range: 3-7)   Times: 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Session Dates: September 15, 2020 - November 3, 2020

This beginning- to intermediate-level class introduces fundamental acting techniques and terminology through theatre games, sensory exercises, and script work. Students learn concentration, listening skills, communication, empathy, character development, diction, scene study, monologues, improv techniques, audition skills, and how to behave logically and naturally onstage.

Venture Into Voiceover - Tuesdays

(Grade Range: 5-12)   Times: 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Session Dates: September 15, 2020 - November 3, 2020
$200

This exciting multimedia class introduces performers to the world of voice acting through videos, script work, interactive group Zoom sessions, and individual evaluations. Learn how to act on mic for commercials, narration, readers theatre, audio books, and animation, including dubs to favorite anime shows. Add a fun, valuable new skill to your actor toolkit! Each student will receive a short reel of their best classwork.

Songwriting - Wednesdays

(Grade Range: 5-12)   Times: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Session Dates: September 16, 2020 - November 4, 2020

Aspiring songwriters can learn how to take any idea and turn it into a song, from award-winning songwriter Roz Esposito. Melody, lyrics, themes, structure, and other songwriting fundamentals will be explored. Each student will complete an original song.

Advanced Acting Techniques - Fridays

(Grade Range: 7-12)   Times: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Session Dates: September 18, 2020 - November 6, 2020

Designed for experienced performers who want to take their skills to the next level, this class focuses on advancing monologue, character development, scene study, pacing, and improv skills. This class introduces more advanced acting techniques, accents and dialects, acting for camera, and breaking emotional barriers to bring authenticity.

Stand-Up Comedy - Fridays

(Grade Range: 7-19 Years of Age)   Times: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Session Dates: September 18, 2020 - November 6, 2020
$200

Teens who love to make people laugh can develop their comedic voice and learn the basic premises of comedy, writing skills, timing, tags, transitions, callbacks, performance techniques, microphone techniques, addressing situations on stage, and working a crowd. Each student will write their own comedy set to be performed at the final class.
