Internships & Volunteer Opportunities

We have many opportunities for individuals age 14+ to get hands-on experience working with a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the children of our community. Internships are offered for a single production, or a class session (8-10 week sessions). Arts & Learning is happy to work with academic institutions to arrange for academic credit.

  • The Artistic Intern
    • Assists the Artistic Associate with all aspects of managing the artistic and literary departments. Duties include:
      • Production Research
      • Script maintenance for all productions
      • Writing for theater newsletter
      • Creation of theater lobby displays
  • Office Assistant Intern
    • Assist the Administrative Office with:
      • Answering the telephone
      • Creating copies of scripts/music sheets
      • Maintaining the databases for camps and classes
      • Assist with facility rentals both in the studio and within the surrounding areas
  • Development Intern
    • The Development Intern assists with all aspects of fundraising including:
      • Research
      • Proposal development
      • Mailings
      • Donor correspondence
      • Maintenance of donor database and files
      • Special event planning and management
  • Marketing Intern
    • Reporting directly to the Office Manager, this internship provides a focus on marketing for the non-profit theater.
      • Assisting the Office Manager with the planning and implementation of seasonal and production marketing strategies
      • Helping to identify and research new audiences
      • Maintaining press and photo archives
      • Managing web site content
      • Assembling and implementing mailings
      • Assisting with box office operations
  • Theater Director/Musical Director Assistant Intern
    • Reporting directly to the Theater Instructor, this internship provides a focus on management of after school theater. Duties include:
      • Assisting the Theater Instructor with auditions and class management
      • Attending to the needs and requirements of the theater instructor
      • Attending rehearsals and performances
      • Maintaining management and production files
      • *Some teaching experience is required*
  • Stage Manager/Technical Director Intern
    • Reports directly to the Director of the production and assist in:
      • Blocking the production
      • Communicating with the administrative side with enrollments
      • Helping with Lighting and Sound design
