Once On This Island Jr.

Once on This Island Jr. is a highly original adaptation of the fairy tale, The Little Mermaid. This production is part of the Arts & Learning Conservatory’s ACTivism Project: Champions of Change.

 

Synopsis

Beginning on a hurricane-ravaged Caribbean island,  Once on This Island  tells the tale about how one peasant girl, TiMoune, rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of the islandbridging two colliding world’s into one another

When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest that will test the strength of her love against the societal fears of discrimination, age, ability, hatred, and even death.

This story inspires us all to become a catalyst for change through learning to tear down barriers that divide and overcoming fear through love.

 

Audition Date: By Appointment

Friday April 30th, 5:00 – 8:00 pm and

Saturday May 1st, 10 am-1 pm

NOW SEEKING: Strong singers and dancers. Principal and supporting roles, ages 10  18

All ethnicities are encouraged to submit.

An audition form and conflict calendar must be filled out and submitted prior to the audition. In order to schedule an audition, you must first register for the production. All who audition and submit tuition will be cast in the show.

Production fee of $375 is to be submitted online prior to audition. Fully paid fee ensures role in cast.
